Operational Psychologists:

Conducts, administers, and interprets the full spectrum of psychological assessment tools and consults with command personnel. Conducts baseline and post-event neuropsychological screening and collects/analyzes data and monitors trends in psychological health. Manages relevant process improvement, program validation, and related research. Requirements:

  • Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Psychology Doctor (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA approved psychology program.
  • Have and maintain a current license to practice psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Minimum of two (2) year’s post-doctoral experience within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of psychology in the area of the clinical psychology, preferably in a Government setting such as a Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF.
  • Have experience and training in personnel assessment and selection with some experience and understanding of SOF personnel selection processes.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain SERE orientation and/or certification through the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA).
  • Minimum Secret level clearance, some positions require TS/SCI.
